Istanbul, September 21, 2026 - Hitit, a global provider of software solutions for the airline and travel industries, has been recognized with two awards at the BeeTech Technology Awards, organized by Istanbul Technical University (ITU). In addition to taking first place in the “Large-Scale Company” category, Hitit received the “Export Leader Special Award” in recognition of its success in technology exports. The awards were presented to Hitit at a ceremony held at the ITU Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, with Hitit’s CFO, Sezer Tuğ Özmutlu, accepting the awards on behalf of the company.

Organized by ITU Teknokent, the BeeTech Technology Awards recognize companies within the ITU ARI Teknokent ecosystem that stand out through their projects, technologies and export performance. Companies are evaluated across different categories based on their scale and performance, while outstanding achievements are recognized through special awards.

A Journey Built on Confidence in Turkish Engineering

Commenting on the awards, Hitit’s CFO, Sezer Tuğ Özmutlu, said: “Hitit’s story began with a strong belief that technologies developed in Türkiye could be produced to world-class standards. When our company was founded, airline technologies were largely developed by organizations based in Europe and the United States, while the needs of the industry were predominantly met through imported solutions. Our founders, however, believed that these technologies could be developed by Turkish engineers and compete on the global stage, and they chose to take a different path.”

Technology Exports Across Six Continents

Noting that Hitit today has business relationships with 68 airlines and travel brands across 47 countries, Özmutlu continued: “Today, with a partner network spanning six continents, we are among the world’s leading airline technology companies. Our position as the largest airline reservation systems provider in West Africa, the second largest in Europe and the third largest in the world is a strong testament to the value of Turkish engineering on the global stage. We have built this success over many years by expanding into new markets, gaining new customers and continuously evolving our product portfolio.”

From ITU Teknokent to the World

Emphasizing that all of Hitit’s solutions are developed at its R&D center within ITU ARI Teknokent, Özmutlu said: “Today, we offer a broad product portfolio that extends beyond aviation to encompass travel technologies. We develop all our products here and export them to markets around the world. As a company that has successfully transformed technology into scalable products, we are not only growing globally, but also contributing to the future of the industry through the innovative solutions we develop and the vision we bring to the sector. We see the awards we received at BeeTech 2026 as a valuable reflection of this journey.”

Hitit’s solutions support the journeys of 110 million passengers annually, while the company’s service network extends to more than 900 airports and 30,000 travel agencies across 160 countries. With a product portfolio spanning passenger service systems, operational solutions, accounting, air cargo systems and next-generation airline retailing, Hitit continues to contribute to the digital transformation of the global airline industry.
