Istanbul, 27 September 2016 - Good news for international airline IT provider Hitit: The company obtained the highest level of certification by IATA for its NDC standard. By this, Hitit is one of the few providers of airline IT technology to develop NDC services for in-house and online distribution channels.

In a global market where the aviation industry is increasingly focusing on revenue per customer instead of revenue per seat, Hitit added IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) to its existing portfolio of online distribution platforms which have already been in use for more than a decade. This new addition will allow partner airlines to have maximum control over their booking processes by creating personalised offers and increasing ancillary revenues.

Thanks to NDC standard, the communication between airline reservation systems and corporate and individual sales channels will become much more transparent, faster, personalised, detailed and flexible. Airlines will be able to take this chance to sell and share various services and travel content which they couldn’t in their traditional sales channels. By using NDC airlines are getting rid of high costs, slow improvements, and the inability to provide special offers and services normally associated with GDS.

Besides offering rich services and content sharing, NDC will provide numerous opportunities to airlines, agencies and travellers thanks to the feature of creating personalised offers. While agencies will be able to have a real-time and direct access to the richest content such as special prices, ancillary services, promotions that the airlines normally provide via their website, the travellers will have a chance to get offers according to their travel profiles and memberships. With a long time experience of providing direct online distribution platforms for airlines and agents, incorporating NDC technology with various functions will enable Hitit to deploy this project worldwide.

While Air Shopping function will provide travellers flexible flight offers and the Order Create function will create flight reservations in the direction of traveller's choice; the Order Change function will give a chance to make changes on the reservations. On the other hand, while Order View function will be a smart way to view the final situation and detailed information of the reservations, the Seat Availability function will give all the information about the seating of the flights.

“We at Hitit always aim to provide the maximum possible amount of freedom and flexibility to our clients through the smart use of latest technologies. The ability to offer and distribute special products and services is crucial for our clients to differentiate themselves in a world where the competition gets tougher every day”, says Aras Kubilay, Product Development Manager of Hitit. “We have been taking steps to provide such competitive advantages with our web-based agent platform for more than a decade, and we are delighted that we will be able to reach even greater masses through IATA’s NDC project”.
