Nevra Onursal Karaağaç has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hitit - one of the world’s leading airline and travel technology companies. Ms. Karaağaç, who has been at Hitit for 18 years and has served as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) since 2018, will succeed Nur Gökman. Ms. Gökman, Hitit’s co-founder, has been CEO since the company's establishment in 1994.

Ms. Karaağaç, along with her team, will manage Hitit. Hitit’s technology and software are used by over 70 airlines and more than 700 airports on 6 continents across 49 countries. The company facilitates a sales volume of US$6.5Bn, thanks to its technological network integrated with over 65 banking and payments systems.

1 August 2024, Istanbul - In its 30th year, Hitit (HTTB), a globally recognized software company in airline and travel technologies, has made a significant leadership change. Nur Gökman, co-founder and current CEO, will hand over the CEO role to Nevra Onursal Karaağaç, the current Chief Marketing Officer, effective September 1, 2024.

In the statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was noted, "Nur Gökman, who is well-known in the sector, will continue to contribute her invaluable knowledge and experience as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors. As the Hitit team, we would like to thank Ms. Gökman for her sterling contributions to our company – without which Hitit would not be where it is today. In line with the Capital Markets Board Corporate Governance Communiqué annex 4.5.4, Mr. Atilla Lise has been appointed as a member of the Early Detection of Risk Committee, replacing Ms. Karaağaç, effective September 1, 2024.”

Shaping world aviation technologies 

Nevra Onursal Karaağaç has dedicated 18 years to Hitit, starting as Creative Director in 2006. She has held various positions, including Brand Manager and Marketing Director, before becoming the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in 2018. Ms. Karaağaç has led significant projects and strategic initiatives in Hitit's global branding efforts - encompassing design, advertising, marketing, sales, strategy, business development, and the IPO.

Ms. Karaağaç began her career as an intern at Wunderman NYC in 2002 and later worked at On3 Creative Group in Pittsburgh from 2003 to 2004. Before joining Hitit, she was employed at Leo Burnett Istanbul. After graduating from Koç High School, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University (2002) and a Master's degree in Interaction Design from Domus Academy in Milan. In 2023, she was awarded with Leadership in Sales Award by Sales Network  –  and has earned certificates from INSEAD Business School (Business Strategy and Financial Performance) and Oxford (Executive Leadership).
