Giants of Aviation Fly with Hitit Computer Services

Founded in response to the continually increasing need of the global aviation sector for customized software, Hitit is today shown among the fastest growing technology companies of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. "Our success is grounded on our firm belief in the potential of our country and people", says Nur Gökman, General Manager of Hitit.

Hitit Computer Services was founded in 1994 by the managers raised from within the Turkish Airlines (THY) family. Having started to provide technical consultancy services to the airlines in various countries in 1995, Hitit set its main goal as 'producing its own software solutions and exporting to the entire world'. Nur Gökman, General Manager of Hitit, expressed how extraordinary the fact that two Turkish women competing in the international technology community was, y saying: "In 1998, I was with Dilek Ovacık in Ethiopia for a tender. The managers of a Turkish construction company who saw us in the lobby of the hotel where we stayed did not believe that we were there for our own business, this attracted so much attention that the then Ambassador of Turkey wondered about us and invited us to dinner at his home!"

 Reaching 60 million passengers

While carrying out its ventures abroad, on the one hand, Hitit fought against the problem of external dependence, which dominates the technology markets even today. As a result of the agreement made in 2000, Crane FF, the loyalty management system developed by Hitit with innovative technology started to be used by THY. Hitit signed its first international sales agreement in the same year with Iceland Airlines. As of 2012, it was chosen by 40 airlines including the world giants.

In parallel to this advancement, Hitit again started to develop a new software package capable of meeting all operational and sales needs of an airline in 2003. The main booking system Crane PAX started to be used by Pegasus Airlines, which had just started scheduled flights in 2005. Today this software package is used by around 20 airline and marine transportation companies in the world, and serves around 60 million passengers in total every year.

With 100 percent domestic capital

As of 2016, Hitit operates in its office located within ITU Teknokent, still with 100 percent domestic capital and its workforce comprised of more than 200 Turkish engineers. Nur Gökman explains how they achieved stable growth against the fierce competition saying: "Our success is grounded on our firm belief in the potential of our country and people. Today, we exhibit the same determination as the one that has turned Turkey into a world giant in terms of aviation, and fearlessly fight against all the difficulties we encounter in the international market. As Hitit, without sharing this spirit, it would not be possible to reach this point not with a team of two hundred people, but even with a team of two thousand people."
