Golden Myanmar Airlines, Myanmar’s first low-cost carrier and Hitit, a leading airline and loyalty management solutions provider, announced that they have signed a PSS services agreement in Yangon, Myanmar.

Establishment of Golden Myanmar Airlines marks an important milestone in the region, as it is Myanmar’s first low-cost carrier and will benefit from the country’s rapidly growing air traffic. The visionary approach of the airline continued with its choice of Hitit, as the long-term partner for its PSS needs and Crane as the underlying technology.

Crane solutions, enriched over the years with differing airline requirements and business models from all around the world, will provide Golden Myanmar Airlines with the perfect tools for the distribution of ancillary services, direct reservation and ticketing through the internet booking engine, agencies and call centres. Passengers will be able to book tickets, make changes online and choose their preferred seats through the airline’s website.

Golden Myanmar Airlines agreement on the other hand, marks an important milestone in Hitit’s history. With this agreement, Hitit establishes its presence in half of the ASEAN countries, following Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei.

Aung Gyi, Managing Director, Golden Myanmar Airlines, commented: “We are going into the regional emerging market as an LCC and in this respect online sales are very important, so the crucial thing is to choose the very efficient CRS. We chose Hitit’s Crane solution after we thoroughly investigated in the industry and having numerous meetings and tests with their team. Now our reservation and ticketing team are very happy with the system performance and I strongly believe that Golden Myanmar Airlines will succeed along with Hitit’s growth in the ASEAN region.”

“We are thrilled to have Golden Myanmar Airlines as our partner and honoured with Golden Myanmar’s decision to select Hitit for its passenger service system. Hitit has a strong existence in South East Asia and we are proud to have Golden Myanmar in our regional community after Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Garuda Indonesia and Royal Brunei. We are committed to Golden Myanmar’s success and we are looking forward to witnessing its successful growth path,” said Ayse Erinc, Chief Strategy Officer of Hitit.
