Hitit has been recognized with the “Women in Meta Technology Special Award” at Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 program. Founded by two female entrepreneurs back in 1994, Hitit continues to lead the way for gender diversity - boasting 65% of its senior management team, half of its Board of Directors and 35 percent of all employees are women.
ISTANBUL - DECEMBER 22, 2022 - Hitit, one of the leading companies in the airline and travel technologies market worldwide, recently won the "Women in Meta Technology Award" at Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Turkey program. As a signatory to IATA's 25by2025 initiative that promotes gender balance within the aviation sectors, Hitit has stood out by exceeding the general criteria for its balanced gender presence throughout all areas and especially technology- where male employment is typically dominant.
Hitit's Chief Financial Officer, Sezer Tuğ Özmutlu was honored to receive the "Women in Meta Technology Special Award" on behalf of Hitit. This award is bestowed on companies demonstrating support for women employment in the technology industry. Noting that there is a male-dominated employment structure in the field of technology, as in many sectors in the world and in Turkiye, Özmutlu said, “Hitit was founded by two female entrepreneurs and has always embraced equality in all of its policies and practices, resulting in an employment rate of women that significantly surpasses the industry average. This is a remarkable achievement both locally here in Turkiye and on a global scale, with females representing significant numbers at every level within our organization's management structure.”
We are dedicated to embracing diversity and inclusion in all aspects, including our approach to social responsibility.
Emphasizing that the approach to diversity and inclusion is not limited to employment only, Özmutlu stated that as a company, they shape their approach to social responsibility in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Özmutlu said, “Gender equity is a core value at our company, and we strive to ensure it in all aspects of operations. This includes equality in hiring practices as well as through social responsibility policies that support gender balance. We go above and beyond to provide a supportive environment for girls and young women, both through the initiatives we participate in, as well as those that we execute ourselves. While maintaining an unwavering commitment to gender equality—not just in aviation or technology, but also through sports—we remain a model company not only within our country but across the globe.”
