The 25th anniversary has led to new initiatives for us, including our new liaison office in Karachi. After Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) joined the Hitit family, we were pleased to also welcome K2 Airways from Pakistan at the beginning of 2019.
Hitit’s position has strengthened in Pakistan and we have become the leading provider of airline software in the country. These achievements are in line with our company’s growth strategy in South Asia and in order to continue to reach our goals we felt it was important to open a liaison office in Pakistan, Karachi.
The office opening ceremony took place on 17th April 2019, exactly one year after Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Hitit signed their agreement. The event was attended by various dignitaries including representatives from Consulates, diplomats, bureaucrats, chamber of commerce, military, Federal Minister and many representatives from the travel and aviation industries of Pakistan like IATA, Turkish Airlines, PIA, K2 Airways, Air Blue, Serene Air, Salam Air and Air Sial.
The liaison office is an essential tool in introducing and reminding the industry of Hitit’s strong position in the region, but beyond this, Hitit is taking on a pro-active role in encouraging the growth of the aviation and travel industries in South Asia. Hitit expects that over the next 20 years there will be a significant growth trend in the region. With this in mind, Hitit’s presence in the area will play a critical role for improving standards of aviation and travel in collaborating with all industry players including airlines, independent travel agencies, OTAs, tour operators...etc.
Today, we are happy to announce that Hitit has just completed of a new solution creating process which is directly related to the agencies in Pakistan. It is planned that the new component of the Hitit Solution Suite, “Crane Agency Portal Plus”, will be activated in the very near future. We see Crane Agency Portal Plus as a very powerful tool for Hitit as it will allow us and our partners to connect with travel agencies directly, and without any additional costs! You will be hearing more regarding Crane Agency Portal Plus very soon, stay tuned!
This development will be approached as a new business line for us, and we are thrilled to build closer relationships with the agencies in Pakistan. Our Karachi office welcomes and is open to all agencies in Pakistan.
