Istanbul, 3 October 2019 - Yesterday, Hitit launched two new-generation solutions for air cargo: Crane CGO (Reservation & Cargo Services) and Crane DOM (Domestic Cargo Services) have been developed to digitalize the complex air cargo supply chain. Crane Cargo solutions are the most comprehensive and complete solutions for air cargo operations. The modular design of the system makes it possible to start with core modules and add as needed. Hitit’s Cargo Management Systems cover all aspects of air cargo transportation, from acceptance to final delivery across the air logistics community. Web-based Crane Cargo offers various tools to enhance capacity management and improve operational efficiency. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the first user of the Domestic Cargo Service, Crane DOM.
The air cargo industry is changing due to technological advancements, it is moving towards a customer-centric model. Logistics companies are facing an era of unprecedented breakthroughs as digitalization becomes inevitable. Air cargo players are no longer satisfied with the current conditions as their needs and expectations have changed. Clients demand a faster, more flexible, and transparent service for their goods.
“Rapidly evolving industries have forced the air cargo business to become more agile and provide innovative solutions and services. The value of goods carried by airlines exceeded $6.2 trillion in 2018 representing 7.4% of the world's GDP; and during the next 20 years, cargo traffic is expected to more than triple. So, in line with the IATA’s StB Cargo initiatives, Hitit designed the Crane Cargo solutions which lead airlines, cargo handling companies, GSAs, forwarders, warehouse operators, and all other members in the supply chain.” said Atilla Lise, Head of Air Cargo and Logistic Solutions of Hitit.
Hitit’s Crane Cargo solutions are built to address the challenges of the modern Cargo industry. A turn-key, web-based solution offers a distinctly unique, fully integrated modular platform with complete end-to-end control over commercial, operational, revenue management, and revenue accounting capabilities.” added Mr. Lise, who was the former President of Turkish Airlines Cargo. Crane Cargo solutions are fully compliant with industry standards and initiatives such as IATA e-Freight, e-AWB, iCargo CDMP, Cargo2000, and parallel with IATA StB Cargo initiatives, satisfying the need to make air cargo easier, smarter and faster. Furthermore, staff efficiency can be improved with shorter training times and a user-friendly web-based system. It promotes the efficient use of resources in cargo handling and document processing.
