Can you share some brief information about your company?

Hitit was founded in 1994 by Nur Gokman and Dilek Ovacik. Our biggest objective that we set for the first day was to get rid of international dependency by completely working with domestic capital and make Turkey a technology-exporting country. We worked hard in this direction for years and achieved our target. As Hitit, with the software and technologies that we have developed for global tourism and aviation sector, we turned into a company that is preferred by the most dynamic providers of the market today. We are ranked fifth in the world in our field. We continue to work, to develop technologies with over 200 colleagues, participate in important projects and aim to improve our world rank.

In which areas do you offer solutions to companies?

We have brought together the technologies that we have developed for the aviation under one name: Crane brand in 1997. We offer comprehensive turn-key solutions for airlines with our Crane products from booking to ticketing, check-in and operations control, crew management, loyalty system, cost and revenue accounting, schedule planning and tour operator/charter management. In addition to the airlines, we develop solutions for travel agencies and airports.

What kind of benefits and progress can the companies get by digitalization of their corporate services?

Digitalization paved the way for a trend to "eliminate the intermediaries", both for technology providers like us, who provide service to corporate customers and for companies that are in direct contact with the end users. This trend, known as "disintermediation" worldwide, is one of the biggest factors shaping today's business world. The effect of this trend increases day by day on the aviation and travel industries in which we and our customers have active business activities. Airlines have an opportunity to contact their passengers and customize their offers with the direct sale channels that they build on the internet and mobile technologies. The consumers have the freedom to purchase without any restrictions. It became easier to access the services and products of any description, therefore the companies that improve themselves by analyzing such trends properly on time will have the largest benefit from them.

Security vulnerabilities increase day by day. What should institutions pay attention to in that matter?

It is important to raise security awareness for the company staff and customers, follow up the standards accordingly, frequently conduct vulnerability analysis and take necessary precautions. It is not possible to say that every system is 100% secure. It is necessary to consider security and solution as an integral part of the whole and to keep an eye open for bringing the design, development and communication phases into perfection, and to act in a way that we have a long path in front of us.
